Comments: I could not have asked for a better overall experience --- not once but twice.
Dr. Davidovitch was concerned, knowledgeable, professional and funny too. And his excellent staff followed his lead all the way.

Everything was flawless: the initial intake and appointments, skilled and friendly staff (both in the office and at Langone), user-friendly website, pre-surgical instructions and prep, pre/post surgeries at the hospital, and post-op follow-ups. I required practically no painkillers other than Extra Strength Tylenol when recovering from both hip replacement surgeries.

I'm in my mid-seventies, and had never had major surgery, so was understandably nervous, especially about the anesthesia. But because the anterior procedure is relatively quick, it requires much less time under. Both replacements went beautifully: I was Dr. D's first patient both times, starting at 7:30am. Both times, I was up walking (with an assistive device) by 11:00 am. For the first one, In April 2023, I was home eating my toasted bagel by 2:45 pm -- only because of traffic and the discharge nurse being busy. The following November, bagel-time was 1:35 pm.

Now that I'm almost two years past the first one and sixteen months after the second, I can speak with confidence: my gait, mobility and range of motion are markedly improved -- I feel it and everyone (including my PT and trainer) notices the huge difference. I was told it could take a year or even more for everything to settle in, and I seem to be right on schedule with both hips.
I was able to take a two-week trip to Italy six months ago, and my hips did not disappoint: I was able to walk easily on cobblestone streets, go up and down stone steps (I did use the railing), and thoroughly enjoy what turned out to be at least 3-4 hours of walking most days. My cane and walking sticks never made it out of my luggage.

Surgery is surgery, but I think mine were as close to pleasant as can be, thanks to Dr. D & Co.
